Sharp XEA102 Cash Register / XEA102 (Grey)Sharp XEA102 Cash Register / XEA102 (Grey)
Sharp XE-A102 cash register supplied as standard with:

- 3 year warranty (1st year is onsite and the 2nd & 3rd years are return to base).

- 3 years telephone, online and e-mail support.

- Set-Up/Customised Pre-Programming* (meaning the cash register is fully customised to your requirements before dispatch).

- Pre-Dispatch Test (eliminating the slim possibility of receiving a DOA machine).

These are our standard services. However, we realise that current market conditions dictate that all capital equipment purchases are even more price sensitive than normal. We therefore allow you to opt out of these standard services and reduce the inclusive services we offer you in return for further discounts on the cash register. We would always recommend that the till is purchased on our standard service with a three year warranty as a cash register is an integral part of any retail or hospitality business.

If you opt out of the 3 year warranty it will be supplied with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty only.

If you opt out of the telephone support you will not be able to contact us by e-mail or phone for technical assistance, however, we do have certain technical videos available on-line at www.youtube.com. We also accept requests for new videos, however, there is no guarantee on when or if they will be available. You can also upgrade to phone support after the initial till purchase by purchasing a Sharp XE-A102 Technical Support Contract. We strongly recommend that tills are purchased with at least telephone technical support as they are a critical business tool.

If you opt-out of the Set-Up/Customised Pre-Programming service the till will be supplied with the standard manufacturer's set-up only and untested before dispatch.

If you need to make a warranty claim during the first 12 months of ownership please contact Sharpserv on 0870 738 0000 quoting your cash register model and serial number.

If you require your cash register to be sent back for repair under the 2nd & 3rd years of the warranty simply e-mail us quoting your invoice number and we will send you a returns form by email. Complete this return form and send it back with the cash register (in the original packaging). The customer pays the cost of returning the till back to our UK service centre. We accept no liability for any items damaged in transit to us. We always advise using an insured carrier service. To obtain a quote try www.interparcel.co.uk. Upon receipt of the returned cash register we will assess and repair/replace parts as necessary and return within 10 working days whenever possible. If parts are delayed from manufacturer we will inform you of this at the time and give best estimates. We will not be liable for the loss of any data/programme/totals within the repaired units, or any subsequent or consequential loss. The limit of our liabilities is to the value of the replacement unit. We will return the repaired item at no extra cost if the delivery point is in a non-remote UK mainland location. Remote/highlands/overseas delivery expenses will incur a small surcharge.

If you have any queries regarding any of our cash registers or warranty periods please do not hesitate in contacting us directly before purchase by e-mail on web@shopstuff.co.uk or 08456 44 22 10

*Set-Up/Customised Pre-Programming of the Sharp XE-A203 includes the following: supply and loading of memory protection batteries, programming of the date and time and setting of the machine to print receipts. The cash register is supplied with a manual so you can set these features up yourself, but we strongly recommend having the cash register set up by us so it is ready to use out of the box. You are then also covered should you have any technical queries on operating or programming the cash register.

General Function Glossary For All Cash Registers (The XE-A102 does NOT have all of these features)

Personalised Receipt - Till can have a personalised header message programmed onto the receipt. The header message would usually be used to advertise the store name, phone no etc.
Secure key lock - different keys are used to move the cash register operation between the different modes: sales, manager, programming, reporting etc. Some of the basic cash registers (Casio 130CR & Sam4S ER-150) only have a slide bar, which any one can move. Tills with a secure lock prevent any one other than the manager switching modes.
Calculator - The calculator mode allows cash register to function like a basic calculator.
Departments - The number of product areas that products can be allocated to. Transactions are recorded in departments and can be totalised by department. A department button can either be OPEN - whereby the sale amount is entered into the department or PRESET in which case the department has a fixed price. Individual PLU's can be allocated to a department so related products sales can be consolidated.
PLU (Price Look Up) - A PLU is an individual product stored in the cash register's memory, allowing for quicker item entry. The PLU will have a set price, so that the sale can be recorded quickly. Either by typing in the PLU code, by scanning the barcode or by pressing the appropriate PLU button depending on the specific till set up.
Clerks - Identification of operators that can log on to the cash register using an access code, or push of a button, can be itemised/totalised in the reports.
Z Report - financial summary of the takings - it will list out how much money should be in the cash drawer, how much has been sold through each department and so on (depending on the specific till). Some tills have a Z1 & Z2 function - the Z2 is a consolidation of all the Z1 reports - so you can use the Z1 report as your daily reading and the Z2 report as either a weekly/monthly or quarterly report - depending on the specific needs of your business.
X Reports ('flash reports') are the same as the Z reports except that they are 'read only' and will not reset. You would only use an X report if you wanted to see how much money had been taken through the till at a specific point in the day - before the close of business.
Journal (audit) roll - A copy of each transaction kept on a separate till roll for audit purposes. Cash registers with only a single printer can only have a journal roll if they are not used to print customer receipts - unless the machine has an electronic journal. Traditional style cash registers have two printers - one for receipts and one for the journal roll.
Electronic journal - Function that enables single roll tills, to print receipts during the day and then issue journal report after printing Z1 report at the end of the day.
Tender - methods of payment i.e.: cash, cheque, credit card.
Received on Account - you can use the Received on Account function to accept payments into the cash drawer when you are not actually selling merchandise. For example, us the Received On Account to accept payments for previously sold merchandise, or record loans into the cash drawer.
Paid Out - Paid Out operations allow the manager to track cash paid out from the till.
Non-add number/code - enables operator to add a number to the receipt that does not effect the sale total (i.e. table number, invoice number, order number etc)
Thermal printer - A printer using heat to burn the information on the receipt. Thermal printers are extremely fast, quiet and do not require replacement inks.
